Wednesday's Moving July Hodgepodge

Visit Joyce and join the fun!

1. Last time you moved house? Something you've learned in moving house?

September will be five years since our last move.  I learned that I save way too many things.  It is a huge project to pack and have to go through things at the same time.

2. Move mountains, move along, make a wrong move, moved to tears, get a move on, move up, move over, move out of the way, move the deck chairs on the Titanic, move it!...pick one and tell us how it fits your recent circumstances.

Move mountains.  Sometimes challenges before us seem impossible.  But God can move mountains regardless of what things look like to us.

3. What have you been doing to make yourself move (aka stay fit-active) during these strange times?

I was walking at the beach but it became too hot for me.  Unfortunately I am not doing much to stay active unless you count cleaning the house and laundry ;)

4. This week's calendar includes celebrations for the following foods-

National Coffee Milkshake Day (Sunday), National Creme Brûlée Day (Monday), National Milk Chocolate Day (Tuesday), National Chicken Wing Day (Wednesday), National Lasagne Day (Wednesday), National Cheesecake Day (Thursday), and National Avocado Day (Friday)

Which one on the list would you be most inclined to celebrate? Which would you be most inclined to skip?

Most likely to celebrate National Chicken Wing Day.  I love Buffalo Wings, especially when I make them on the grill and there is less of a mess to clean up.
Least likely to celebrate National Avocado Day.

5. Next week's Hodgepodge lands in August! I know!! Raise your hand if you feel like July flew by in the blink of an eye? Now bid farewell to your July acrostic style. If you don't know what that means click here.

J- just in case
                 U- uncertainty continues
        L- let us remember
Y- yearning for this to end

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

Have a great week and enjoy the rest of summer!

Wednesday's Hot July Hodgepodge

Visit Joyce and join the fun!

1.  Do you think the pandemic has had any kind of positive impact on your mental health? Explain.

Yes, I do think there has been a positive impact on my mental health.  Trying to be positive :)  Spending more time in God's Word helps to keep things in perspective and gives me hope.

2. A hot mess, hot under the collar, in hot water, hot button, hot diggity dog!, hot shot, hot seat....choose one and tell us how it applies to your life currently.

A hot mess!  Lazy pool days, wearing comfy clothes and not blowing out my hair every day.  Need I say more?

3. Speaking of the hot seat, do you work well under pressure or do you actively avoid high pressure situations?

I do work well under pressure although as I have gotten older I try to avoid high pressure situations.  I much rather work at a calmer pace these days.

4. Hotdogs-yay or nay? If you said yay how do you like yours? Did you know July is National hotdog month?

Every once in a while yay to a hot dog.  I only like certain brands though.  Sabrett, Boar's Head, and Nathan's are my favorites.  For a healthier version, Trader Joe's has pretty good nitrate free hot dogs.   I like mine with a little sauerkraut, mustard and ketchup.  I did not know that and I haven't had a hot dog yet this summer.  I will have to throw some on the BBQ.

5. I read here a list of America's coolest Southern towns. They are Marfa Texas, Greenville South Carolina, Abindgon Virginia, Athens Georgia, Bentonville Arkansas, Florence Alabama, Oxford Mississippi, Abita Springs Louisiana, Wilmington North Carolina, Monroeville Alabama, McMinnville Tennessee, Natchez Mississippi.  How many on the list have you seen in person? Which town on the list would you most like to see?

I have not been to any of those towns.  Right now they all sound so hot to me.  I would pick Greenville, South Carolina.  Since it is between NC and GA maybe I could visit friends I have in those states while I was there.  Traveling is not on my mind right now.   Our state has a two week quarantine upon return from travel to many states.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

I don't seem to have much to say lately.  Have a great week!
