This morning as I was doing my book study "Small Changes for a Better Life" I read Phil. 4:8. Since it is a commonly quoted scripture I almost glossed over it. But the next sentence jumped out at me. Elizabeth George wrote, "Honor God by refusing to think otherwise." Wow, I know that we should think about things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtueous and praiseworthy and that should be the filter for our thoughts. But I had to read that again. When I refuse to think otherwise I am honoring God. Isn't that a tremendous thought? I can refuse to think otherwise. We must choose what we think about. We must discipline our thought life as well. Sometimes we hear things several times and then we glean some new meaning or application from it. That is exiciting to me. I thank God for His Word.
Amen.
