“To fear God is to know Him,
{“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10}
to trust Him,
{“Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.” Psalm 34:11,22}
to obey Him
{“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.” Proverbs 8:13}
and to show Him reverence.”

Beautiful, Theresa! I was reading Jonah this morning, and thought to myself, "Would I be like Jonah, and try to run and hide from the LORD if He were to call out and give me direction? Or would I heed and obey?" Thank you for the good scripture to remind me. :o) Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI love the Proverbs verse! Especially since I am CONSTANTLY seeking wisdom! I guess it's no surprise that the answers to my questions start with the Lord!
ReplyDeleteThanks for guiding us to His word Theresa!
Have a great Wednesday!
I have been reflecting so much lately about how fear in the Lord is the only true source of happiness and peace. These were great to read!
