Wednesday’s Words of Wisdom

“To fear God is to know Him,

{“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10}

to trust Him,

{“Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.  The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.” Psalm 34:11,22}

to obey Him

{“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.” Proverbs 8:13}

and to show Him reverence.”

(New Geneva Study Bible, page 664, commenting on Nehemiah 1:11)

  1. Beautiful, Theresa! I was reading Jonah this morning, and thought to myself, "Would I be like Jonah, and try to run and hide from the LORD if He were to call out and give me direction? Or would I heed and obey?" Thank you for the good scripture to remind me. :o) Happy Wednesday!

  2. I love the Proverbs verse! Especially since I am CONSTANTLY seeking wisdom! I guess it's no surprise that the answers to my questions start with the Lord!

    Thanks for guiding us to His word Theresa!

    Have a great Wednesday!

  3. I have been reflecting so much lately about how fear in the Lord is the only true source of happiness and peace. These were great to read!

  4. What beautiful truths to turn our hearts to God!!

Thank you for visiting. Please let me know you stopped by so I can be sure to come visit you. ~Theresa
