Wednesday's In the Garden Hodgepodge

Visit Joyce and join the fun!

1. Ever played the game Farkle? Are you a risk taker? In games only or also in life?
Yes, I have played Farkle.  It is fun but noisy when you roll the dice in the container.  I would not consider myself a risk taker in life.  In games, yes.  When I play 500 Rumy I rarely pass up on opportunity to pick up the stack of cards if I can get some points. Sometimes another player goes out and I am stuck with extra points against me in my hand.

2. What's your favorite thing about your yard or whatever outdoor space you may have?
The woods behind us that give us privacy. There are lots of different birds that come to visit our yard and I love listening to them and watching them.

3. Tell us about the most interesting building you've seen or been in.
I can't think of an interesting one so I'll go with a favorite because I think it is beautiful to look at.
The Chrysler Building, NYC.

4. In this current season of social distancing, what's something you've come to realize you take for granted in more ordinary times? Do you think you'll make a conscious effort to appreciate whatever that 'it' is once normal life resumes?
Meeting in person with my church family.  Yes, I think I will make an effort to appreciate it more if and when we can meet normally again.

5. Share a favorite song with a springtime flower in the lyrics somewhere.
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses

6. Insert your own random thought here.

"The greatest danger to American freedom is a government that ignores the Constitution"
-Thomas Jefferson

I understand certain actions were taken to contain the spread of Covid-19.  It is concerning to me that most churches are still unable to meet, even with CDC guidelines being followed. Yes there are many online and live stream church services and that is great.  I just hope that doesn't become the new normal.  We are in week eight of stay home orders here and it feels really long.
