Wednesday's Hodgepodge

I am linking up today for Wednesday Hodgepodge hosted by Joyce.

1. What's something you miss about the 1980's? If you're too young to miss the 80's how about the 90's?

Winged back hair like Kelly from Charlie's Angels.

2. Do you have a library card? If so, how often do you visit?

Yes. Probably about ten times a year. Although our local library is under construction so that probably explains it. When it opens back up I will try to go every other week. When the children were preschool age we went more frequently because they had lots of programs for them.

3. What's the secret to success?

Trusting in the Lord for all things, seeking His kingdom, loving others.

4. This is National Backyard Games week...what's your favorite backyard game?

Volleyball. I haven't played in a long while, but it sure is fun.

5. If I dropped by today what would I find on your coffee table?

I don't have a coffee table but on my end table you would find a lace crocheted tablecloth made by my mother-in-law, a green glass dish, a "Live, Love, Laugh" coaster, a ceramic decorative cross tealight holder, a few papers that go along with my jury duty summons, a blank penmanship paper for the children, and a scrap paper with the dates of the Romans sermons I am trying to get for my father-in-law.

6. Do you own a bicycle? When was the last time you rode a bicycle? Is that something you enjoy?

I think so. I am sure it is somewhere in the garage. I don't ride anymore because it is not good for my back. I did take my daughter's bicycle for a spin through the back yard to try it out last year though ;)

7. What's your favorite cheese?

Mozzarella. Who doesn't like anything parmesan or pizza?!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Thankful for the many who sacrificed for our freedom!

  1. Jury duty? Ugh. I don't envy you. I was on a case once, when I was 6 months preggo with daughter #2. It was the stupidest case, and in my opinion, should never have even gone to trial! My sister, however, was on a murder trial. Now, THAT is scary stuff :/

Pizza is just not pizza without mozzarella cheese!

  2. I once got excused from jury duty because 4 of our kids had chicken pox. After staying home with them (and hubby, who also got it), jury duty might have been the better option! Ha!
    Have a great day!

  3. I loved the hair too... Not all the hair spray though. I saw a giant can of AQUA NET the other day at the store and it brought back so many memories!

  4. Oh! I forgot about the hair of the 80's! Oh my was it big!!! I enjoyed jury duty but can not be on a criminal case because I'm married to a cop. Rats, I miss out on all the good ones!

  5. Mozzarella cheese is great. It came in a close second for me. :)

  6. Me, being from a military family [brothers, son, husband] ...I like your random thought. And I LOVE your coaster on the end table.

  7. I used to wear my hair like that. :) So many brave soldiers gave their lives for our freedom and still doing it. I have great respect for anyone who has served our country.

  8. Oh, my goodness, what a flashback with the "wingbacked hair." Lawdy be!

    So agree with #3!

You must have a big end table to hold all those items, or maybe I just have tiny end tables. :o)

    Blessings! Love your blog design!

  9. First off, I *love* the playlist on the side of your blog :) And I love volleyball too!! Absolutely love your blog - I'm your latest GFC follower :)

  10. Love the hair style---have always wanted to be on jury duty and never have.

  11. Oh how I tried to feather my bangs, but my naturally curly hair wouldn't allow for it. :D

  12. Kelly was my favorite of Charlie's Angels!!! :)

I had jury duty last year from Oct to Dec - but got dismissed when I took my 2 year old to a jury briefing thing because I had no child care. :) Not that I minded doing it - but I have no family here to watch my baby and most of my friends work - and God forbid, they'd sequester me!!! Good luck w/ yours (or should I say God's will!).

  13. As a home school mom I couldn't have taught these past 23 years without our library fines, oh my, I seem to always miss the date.

80's..remember too well, that is when I married and started having kids...and I so remember the styles.
    #3 sums it all up

    Have a great weekend!!

  14. Kelly was my favorite : ) I'm amazed at all the people in the hodgepodge without coffee tables! I think there are more without than with.

We will be flying our flag this weekend!

Thank you for visiting. Please let me know you stopped by so I can be sure to come visit you. ~Theresa
