Wednesday's Hodgepodge- Hot Pink Toes

Visit Joyce and join the fun!

1. June 23rd is National Pink Day. What's your favorite something pink?

I love hot pink nail polish on my toes.  It is my favorite go-to color and makes me happy.

2. What did you enjoy most about gym class when you were in school? How about the least?

I didn't enjoy gym very much but I guess I'd have to say getting outdoors during the school day.  The thing I least enjoyed was having to change clothes and then be all sweaty and have to go to class.

3. What memory is brought to mind by the smell of roses?

My mom used to keep a bottle of rose milk hand lotion next to the kitchen sink when I was a kid.  It was popular back then but I haven't seen it in a long time.

4. Do you prefer to read or write?

I prefer to read.  I don't mind writing but prefer to have a topic given to me rather than thinking up something myself.

5. Sam Keen is quoted as saying, 'Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.' Would you agree? Is laziness ever respectable? How will you be lazy this summer?

Yes, I agree.  Summer is the perfect time to slow down and take a break.  I don't think it is being lazy since it serves a purpose.  Sitting by the pool or at the beach when there are things that could be getting done is a way I will be lazy this summer.

6. The Florida Keys, Disney World, or a resort somewhere on the Gulf Coast...which Florida destination would you choose (and why) if the trip were today?

The Florida Keys, for sure!  I haven't been there in years but would love to go back.  The beautiful beaches make it an easy choice for me.  I swam with the dolphins when I was there over 20 years ago and would like to do that again.

7. What question do you hate to answer?

Do you want to continue in English?  Although usually the phone recordings now say "to continue in English press1'.  It just aggravates me.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Speaking of hot pink nail polish on toes, I have found the best thing for smooth feet.  I stopped going to the nail salon for pedicures years ago and now do my own.  One of the things I miss is how smooth they can get your heels.  I remember a pedicurist telling me the best thing is to keep a pumice sponge in the shower and to use it daily.  I found a package of 6 on amazon for $8.99.  I've been using it and my feet are super soft and smooth :)

  1. I like how you answered #5 - I was kind of stuck on that one. :-))
I do not really know what is considered lazy. LOL

I also love what you had to say for #7!! I get it. :-))

Thank you for the random tip ~ I will be checking into those.

Have a great 4th of July. I will be taking a blog break next week.

  2. Haha! I love your question. It is so irritating to have to go through that each time you call a company. Thanks for the tip on the pumice sponge. I may try that. My feet are the worst and I feel sorry for the person who does my pedicures (I usually do 3 in the summer and hide my feet the rest of the year under socks)

  4. Thanks for visiting my blog! I currently am sporting TCU purple on my ties and love it. No, I didn't go to TCU, but I want you to know just how very purple it is!

  5. I love having hot pink or coral on my toes. I need to get another pedicure soon. I will have to try the feet smoother you were talking about. I usually don't get a lot of pedicures since i wear socks most of the time. I keep my feet smooth by wearing aloe socks and foot lotion from Bath & Body Works. I use the same thing for my hands. They get so chappy in the winter.
Honestly i haven't received a V.S. catalog in a while, they used to send me 2 for 1 coupons, etc. They don't anymore for some reason.
I didn't like having gym in the middle of the day either, although a few times i was lucky to have PE during 6th period a few years so i could just go home and shower. I was uncomfortable changing in front of other girls, i still am when i go to the gym i do all that stuff at home. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  6. No, I don't want to continue in English, I want to have English be the only option, thank you very much!
Going to class sweaty after gym was the worst. But I preferred it over taking a shower (and we had the choice). Either way I was self-conscious, but there was baby powder inn copious amounts I used rather than exposing my (then) flat-chested self in public.

  7. PS Thanks for the recommendation for the pumice sponges. I'll take a look-see. I love soft feet but only feel them at their best after some rough scrubbing.

  8. I totally forgot pink toe polish! It is not summer without hot pink on the piggies! Of course I have purple on but I had to change it up! Loved your answers!

  9. The question you posed is irritating to me as well. I want English to be the only option if the call is being placed inside the United States. I remember Rose Milk hand lotion!!

  10. I think I'll have to see about getting a pumice stone. Hadn't thought of looking on Amazon for one before.

  11. Love pumice sponges and have been using them for years. And, I like pink toes too! :o)) If we weren't so busy with the new house I would definitely slow down and be lazy. It's too hot to do much else here. Happy rest of the week!

  12. Swimming with dolphins! That sounds like fun, but I'd need to be a better swimmer first! Thanks for the tip about the pumice stones!

  13. I use to get my toes bright pink but recently I've been sticking with red. You right, those questions on the phone upset me. If you live in the USA you should speak our language! I use a pumice in the shower and it does help a lot.

  14. I've been using Dr. Scholl's heel cream and it works. I just have to remember to put it on : ) I always opt for a raspberry color on my toes in summer. I'm overdue!

  15. That's an interesting answer to #7 - we never get that here in England although I think there would be an uproar if it was introduced. What is more common is that you get routed through to call centres overseas where sometimes the accents are so strong it's hard to understand the workers even when they are speaking English!
