Earthquaaaake!

Wow, I never thought about earthquakes here in NY. This afternoon I was sitting on the couch watching Baby Story. It felt like someone was shaking my couch. I asked my daughter if my son was hiding behind the couch thinking he was bumping into it. She said her chair was moving too but I thought she was just kidding. I thought my vertigo was kicking in and I was having an attack. It wasn't until a few minutes later that my aunt from Florida called and asked me if I felt the earthquake. Thank God that it wasn't a vertigo attack. Anyone who has ever had dizziness can relate!
Anyone else on the east coast feel it?

  2. I've lived in NY my whole life and never felt anything quite like that! I really thought I was having some sort of attack and was about to pass out - until all my coworkers started saying the same thing!!

  4. Glad you're OK, Theresa.
I am in Virginia, only about 35 miles from the center of the earthquake, but we were in the car and didn't feel anything. We pulled up to a gas station about 3 minutes after it hit and that's all everyone was talking about! Very weird!
Now we have to keep an eye on Hurricane Irene this weekend! Sheesh!

  5. We didn't feel it here, but it doesn't mean we didn't have one:)

I am glad you are okay and that you weren't just dealing with a vertigo attack!

    Have a blessed week, Theresa.

Did you start school yet? We went to the beach yesterday and I thought of you! Hope you are enjoying some beach time too!

  6. Theresa, glad to hear your o.kay. I am not sure what I would do if I felt something like that. Thanks for your comments on my blog recently. :)

  7. I live in California. Ironically, we had a 3.8 quake here about 11:30 or so. Thankful you are all okay. And I've had Vertigo of the worst kind twice. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

  8. When I was hopping for today's Hodgepodge I saw 'earthquake' on your sidebar and found this article. I work about 5 miles from the epicenter of where it hit in Louisa. We aren't that far from a major fault here in VA, so we feel them every 4-5 years. For me, the "memorable" part of that was one of the big aftershocks that evening. I was at the movies with friends watching "The Help", and I remember thinking that they must have really had the volume turned up loud for "Cowboys and Aliens" next door, because the walls were rumbling. Nope! Aftershock! :)
