Wednesday's Hodgepodge

I am linking up today for Wednesday Hodgepodge hosted by Joyce.

1. What are three words you would use to describe your 2011?

Grace, Mercy and Love. God's of course!

2. Do you like shrimp? What's your favorite way to have it prepared?

For some reason it hasn't appealed to me lately, but my favorite has to be Jumbo Fried Shrimp with tartar sauce. I have wonderful memories of eating it when we would go out to eat with my aunt and grandparents in Florida.

3. Is your house de-Christmased? If so when did you tackle that job? If not, when will the decorations come down?

No. I plan on doing that this weekend. The weather is supposed to be in the 40s/50s and clear so hubby can tackle the lights and decorations outside too :)

4. Do you like to watch scary movies?

No! I can't even stand too much action/adventure movies.

5. ice skating~sledding~skiing~snowboarding~of the four listed which wintertime activity do you most enjoy?

Sledding, for sure! I love sledding, although I think it is more like tubing these days.

6. Did you have a childhood hideout? Describe it.

We have a little closet in the basement that we used as a pantry. It has slats on the door so you can see out but can't see in.

7. What's a place or space that motivates you?

The ocean. Nothing like staring out on water that seems to have no end. Enjoying God's beautiful creation with my feet in the sand always seems to clear my mind.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Is anyone else having odd weather for January where they are? Today was in the 20s and by the end of the week it's forecasted to be in the 50s! It really doesn't feel much like winter except for the bare bushes.

  1. Talk about unusual weather. Usually this time of year we are in the mid 60's. The last three days it has been near 80. I do love it, I open my doors and windows, and all that fresh air perks up the whole house.
I love the ocean, whether it is calm of stormy. It's great power always reminds me of God's power.

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog, Theresa. I'm not a big beach person but enjoy early morning walks on the beach or late evening when the sun is setting. And I enjoy hearing the waves. (One of my alarms is set to ocean waves.)
Our weather has certainly been unusual. Our low this morning was 13 and our high was 40. By the weekend our high is expected to be 60! Then dropping again.

  3. We have had similar weather, Theresa! It was in the teens/twenties and is forcasted to be in the upper 30's or even 40. Very nice for up here by Lake Superior this time of year! We should be below zero with bone-chilling winds.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I like your wintery blog design... reminds me a little of peppermints! And yes, we have very cold weather today, with predictions of a warm up for the weekend. Happy new year to you!

  5. Glad you still have Christmas up! I will start gathering things to the dining room table next week. Then the tree is my biggest challenge with over 800 ornaments on it! The ocean is a great answer, I love it. I'm in California so we usually have nice weather but compared to last year it is pretty calm so far around the US.

  6. thanks for your comment! What font are you using? I must have a different version of blogger because i can only choose from 6 different fonts. Anyhow we go to TJ's every week! I love it way better than a regular supermarket since their stuff has more organics and doesn't include bad chemicals etc.
