Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... it is sunny and hot. Looks like a beautiful day as long as you are in the A/C or the pool :)

I am thinking... I have lots of laundry to do today. I didn't do any over the weekend so it has piled up.

I am thankful for... a faithful church. We had our 15th anniversary celebration dinner on Saturday and it was a great time.

From the learning rooms... it is nice to be on summer break.

From the kitchen... depends on what defrosts first. I have pork chops and chicken breasts defrosting in the fridge.

I am wearing... khaki drawstring capris and a blue v-neck.

I am going... no special plans this week. I am looking forward to that after a busy week.

I am reading... the Bible, Womanly Dominion: More than a Meek and Gentle Spirit by Mark Chanski, The Ministry of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson, Beautiful in God's Eyes by Elizabeth George.

I am hearing... the A/C and the washing machine.

One of my favorite things... fresh rye bread from the bakery with soft butter. Have I mentioned we have one of the best bakeries ever here in our town?!

A picture for sharing... here is the 8 inches I cut off of my hair! I am donating it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program.

  2. Sounds like a great day...it is too hot to even go to the pool here.

Your donation of your hair is great. Our old neighbor, who is a pediatric nurse at the children's cancer center, she does that all the time...she has red hair...one time they cut it almost to the point she was bald, because it wasn't long enough...she just smiled and went on, she could now relate to her patients.

What an awesome gift to someone.

  3. Hi, Theresa,
I enjoyed reading your daybook. :)
How nice of you to donate your hair. Katie donated hers to Locks of Love a couple years ago. I know it's not possible, but I would like to see a picture of it made into a wig with someone wearing it.
I love fresh bread too (just not rye). It's probably a good thing that I don't have a bakery nearby. I'd have to fight the temptation!
Hope you have a great week. :)

How wonderful that you could donate your hair!

  5. That is amazing about donating your hair. I have heard about it but never remember when I get a good haircut.

  6. Way to go on donating your hair. That is wonderful. My mother in law is just now wrapping up her chemo/radiation process {breast cancer} and having a wig at times was something that made her smile.

Stay cool in this heat! :)
